YKSD, in partnership with Chadron State College, is offering a "Grow Our Own" teacher program.  This program works with current high school students, current paraprofessionals, and former students to help recruit and retain quality teachers that are invested in our own school district and communities.  

• What Chadron State College Offers:

  • Quality education program

  • Wrap around services for all students enrolled in the program

  • Affordable costs (Free tuition for those with household income less than $65,000/year.)

  • Engaging and relevant coursework

  • High acceptance rate

  • Early college enrollment for high school students.  (Students may begin taking coursework during their junior year of high school.)

• What YKSD Offers:

  • Support throughout the program

  • Tuition assistance

  • Apprenticeship style learning (High school students may be eligible for payment during high school for apprenticeship learning)

  • Employment after high school in a paraprofessional position while finishing college coursework

  • Employment as a certified teacher within the Yukon-Koyukuk School District upon completion of college coursework and internship
