Simeon Mountain, Sr. lives in Nulato, an Athabascan village of about 300 people which was established in 1838 as a Russian trading post.  Simeon grew up in Nulato strongly influenced both by the education he received at the Catholic mission and the old ways of his elders.

As with others in Nulato, Simeon is a complex mixture of old ways and new.  He is a business man and works on local politics.
