The Yukon-Koyukuk School District offers a variety of special events for our students throughout the school year.   Overall, these events focus on building a number of strengths including: building healthy relationships, highlighting cultural awareness, offering unique academic opportunities,  and elevating career/health awareness for our students to grow in a holistic fashion.  Some of these events include:

Senior Fly-In:  Annual spring event for seniors that allows students the opportunity to take part in mock-interviews, meet trade/military recruiters, visit the university system and Alaska Job Center, learn about banking/finances, take part in life skills activities such as grocery shopping, etc.

Culture Camp:  Intermittent during spring/fall focusing on cultural awareness.

Health/Career Fair: Virtual event hosted four times a year for K-12 students. This event brings a variety of participants to speak to our students and community members about career opportunities & topics in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  This event includes partnering with Tanana Chiefs Conference and local professionals to offer the best for our students and community!

Phlight Club: Fall & Spring semester event—see link under "Student Links" located at the top of this page for more information.

Welding & Construction Academy:  Both the welding and construction academies are hosted once each year and offer participating students the opportunity to learn skills in these respective trades.  The academies run for approximately two weeks and offer students the opportunity to earn high school and college credits while learning a trade!
