Moses Henzie lives in Allakaket, Alaska, an Athabascan village on the Koyukuk River just south of the Brooks Range.  He has spent his life there during a time of great change.  He is both a hunter and a craftsman, having learned the ways of his grandparents as well as those of his contemporaries. 

Moses easily converses in both Koyukon and English.
