Josephine Roberts
Josephine Roberts, Tanana
Tanana village at the confluence of the Tanana and Yukon rivers has always occupied an important place in the history of the Interior. Josephine Roberts is a soft-spoken and well-respected resident of Tanana. Originally growing up down river, she has made Tanana home for over 40 years. While she has been continuously employed at the hospital since 1960, she finds time to hunt moose, pick berries, join in Indian singing, sew, and raise countless kids and grandkids.
