Stanley Dayo came to Alaska in the 1930’s as a young man.  He’s spent his adult life in the woods and goldmines of the Interior.  Living in Manley Hot Springs longer than anyone else, he’s gained the respect and friendship of the town’s people who refer to him as “the mayor”.

Stanley tells of his early days as “bohunk” walking the country, trapping, living off the land and meeting folks who have become historical characters to younger people and newcomers.
