This collection of interactive digital books was a collaboration between the Yukon-Koyukuk School District and the Association of Alaska School Boards.
These books were created in a two-day series of "Book Slam" workshops held in YKSD schools during the 2019-2020 school year. Students, teachers, elders, community members, and district staff were involved in illustrating, translating, and narrating the books, which feature local stories, language, and culture.
Cultural identity is an important element of student academic success and well-being. We hope you enjoy reading these books as much as we enjoyed making them!
