Acellus is a computer-based learning system that has changed online education as we know it today. Acellus is the only online learning system that utilizes I2 (Intelligent Interaction), the technology that enables it to cater the educational content to the individual skill set of each student through customized, personal instruction. Acellus courses are taught via tiered video instruction – each course is broken up into individual concepts, and each concept has multiple videos available. Acellus is able to customize the course to the individual pace and level of each student.
This test is equivalent to the SAT and is required for students desiring to go to college or applying for the Collegiate Scholarship through the Alaska Performance Scholarship. On the left side of the webpage is a link to find testing locations and dates in your area.

AKCIS is a free, interactive, web-based education and career planning tool which helps students identify their interests, explore career pathways, and begin to make their own Personal Learning and Career Plans. The AKCIS Jr. Implementation Plan offers 3 models to meet the needs of teachers with varying schedules for AKCIS activities. Many activities are designed to be completed online, with others available as printable worksheets. AKCIS is a partnership between the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education and Alaska Department of Labor & Workforce Development.

Alaska Business Week (ABW) is a one-week summer program teaching Alaskan high school students the basics of business, leadership and entrepreneurship. Participants live on a college campus, and work as teams in a dynamic business simulation with the guidance of a mentor from the business community. After completing the program, students have a competitive edge on workplace readiness, college preparation, and overall life success. ABW gives participants the tools they will need to succeed after their high school graduation.

Alaska Performance Scholarship
High school students can earn thousands of dollars to help pay for enrollment in a post-secondary institute after graduation. A combination of high school GPA and score on SAT/ACT or WorkKeys exam will determine eligibility. The award must be used at participating Alaskan institutions. Please contact your school counselor for more information regarding eligibility.

The UA Scholars Award is an $11,000 scholarship which can cover eligible expenses such as undergraduate tuition, fees, room, board, books, supplies, and other educational costs incurred for attendance at the University of Alaska. Students eligible for the award are designated by their high school counselor based on their academic standing at the end of their junior year. The award is disbursed to eligible Scholars in the amount of $1,375 per semester for a total of eight semesters over a five year period.
A college prep program; learn to navigate UAF's campus, and earn 2--1 credit classes. Attending makes you eligible to earn 6 free college credits over the next year (over $1000 savings). Cost is free if you qualify. Check website for more details.
